It’s that time of year! The malls are flooded with people, trees, decorations and gift sets. Whether you prefer to cut your own tree, or grab a pre-cut tree, Christmas tree shopping can be a fun tradition for the whole family.
A lot of tree farms will only be open for a few days this year, due to limited supply. Check out some of these great Christmas tree farms near Portland.
Frog Pond Farm
Opening date: November 19, 2021
Located about 15 minutes south of Portland, Frog Pond Farm in Wilsonville is a great stop for pre-cut trees. While you’re there, visit with their camels, llamas, ponies, goats and donkeys or visit the farm store for decor and gifts! Santa will be visiting on Saturdays and there will be coffee and local food carts! Admission is free and the farm is open 7 days a week through December 23.
Lee Farms
Opening date: November 13, 2021
Lee Farms does it all – sunflowers in the summer, pumpkins in the fall and Christmas trees in the winter. This farm in Tualatin offers pre-cut trees that are ready to go and they even load them onto your car for you. This year, they are offering Noble Fir, Nordman Fir, Grand Fir and Douglas Fir trees. Stop by the farm market and bakery before you leave! They are open Tuesday-Sunday and are closed Mondays.
Loch Lolly
Opening Date: November 26, 2021
Located in North Plains, Loch Lolly offers both U-Cut and pre-cut trees. They are open 9-5 daily starting on November 26. Stop by and visit Santa at Loch Lolly on the weekends, visit the gift and wreath shop, and grab some hot chocolate! Loch Lolly has a variety of Douglas Fir, Grand Fir, Noble Fir and Nordman trees.
Thornton’s Treeland
Opening date: November 26, 2021
Thornton’s Treeland is located just north of Portland in Vancouver, Washington. The barn at Thornton’s has a life-size nativity scene along with animals, crafts, wreaths and more holiday gift shopping. Grab a warm cup of coffee or hot chocolate and head out to pick your perfect tree!
Quail Creek Ranch
Opening date: November 19. 2021
Quail Creek in Portland is open Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 9-4:00. They provide a variety of both pre-cut and u-cut trees. Warm up in the warming hut, grab a warm cup of cocoa or cider and find the perfect tree to make your home a winter wonderland!
