Where to celebrate St.Patrick’s Day in Portland

Shamrock Run

It’s time for the Shamrock Run once again. Whether you’re running, walking, or just planning your travel day around the race, here’s what you need to know.

The 2023 Portland Shamrock Run is a half marathon, 15K, 8K, 5K and 1K race that takes place in Downtown Portland. This event is family friendly – bring your kids (10 and under) for the one mile Leprechaun Lap and enjoy the Finish Line Festival together.

The event starts on March 10, with the actual Shamrock Run taking place on Sunday, March 12th at 8AM. The day will wrap up at the Finish Line Festival, where all participants can claim their bowl of post-race oatmeal and complimentary beer for those 21 and older.

If you’re traveling the weekend of March 10-12, expect delays and detours throughout the waterfront area as well as downtown. Barbour Blvd and Terwilliger Blvd may also be impacted by the race.
