There are few people who have been at Gartner’s longer than Xaya. He has been with our team for 21 years! (However we think he still looks 20).
Xaya started working at Gartner’s in 1999. He is loved by coworkers and customers alike. Xaya started as a member of our clean up team, who keeps our meat counter, smoke houses and kitchen in tip-top shape.
If you wander into Gartner’s on a busy day, you might see customers who have already had their number called, waiting along the back wall. Many of our long-time customers will wait as long as they need to in order to have Xaya put up their order for them (and he always does it with a smile).
Xaya’s excellent customer service is also met with his skills as a meat cutter (what can’t this guy do?)
Xaya’s favorite thing about working at Gartner’s is all of his coworkers and his favorite thing to take home to cook is Marinated Short Ribs.
His favorite thing to do in his spare time is spend time with his beautiful new daughter, and his favorite sports team is the Portland Trail Blazers. He explained, “They can break you, or make you happy. And that is my home town!”
